NEW FOR 2008…

For 2008, Claire Ferguson Ceramics presents the new coloured range. This exciting body of work offers individually decorated pieces that are each unique in pattern. Within the range there are a variety of different finishes including a mixture of colours on one piece, partial application of glaze, and the incorporation of texture with coloured pattern. When lit the translucent bone china emits a warm glow creating a shadow affect where the coloured pattern lays.

I design and produce a range of bone china lighting and accessories that combine clean white forms with delicate texture. The work explores the qualities of fabric married with bone china, exploiting the translucent properties of this material. Each piece gains its individuality and character with texture applied by hand differently each time. The simple forms derive from the straight clean lines and geometric shapes found on old industrial machinery, and are designed to enhance and compliment the exterior pattern. When illuminated, every nuance of detail is captured in a soft glow that creates an ambient light to relax by.
